Under general supervision, the Certified Peer Specialist will work directly with individuals in services with mental health and substance use disorders to assist in promoting whole health and wellness in recovery. The candidate will be an advocate for recovery with individuals served and in the community by engaging in community outreach events. The candidate will also oversee and/or facilitate recovery groups and conduct individual recovery check-ins and link individuals to community resources. The candidate may also be required to transport individuals.

Works with the following population: Male and female individuals with a mental health diagnosis and/or addictive diseases.
Location(s) this position will serve: Randolph County, Stewart County, Quitman County, and Clay County.
Minimum Requirements: High School diploma / GED. Must currently be a Certified Peer Specialist. Must possess knowledge, skills, abilities, and understanding of Recovery Support Services and Mental Health Services. Must have two (2) or more years of continuous sobriety. Must have the ability to work with diverse populations and be committed to recovery, choice, and empowerment of individuals. Must have an insured vehicle available for work, as well as a clean Motor Vehicle Report.
Days & Time: This position will work 40 hours a week, Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm. Occasional Saturdays for outreach events.
Pay: $33,800 per year
