The Employment & Education Specialist will connect clients with relevant community resources, including housing, employment, healthcare, and educational opportunities. The candidate will also:

  • Facilitate access to social service programs and benefits to address both immediate and long-term needs. 
  • Advocate for clients within the social services system, ensuring their rights are protected and their needs are met.
  • Assist clients in navigating bureaucratic processes, legal systems, and other complex environments.
  • Regularly monitor clients' progress toward their goals and provide ongoing support.
  • Collaborate with other service providers and community organizations to address barriers or challenges clients may encounter. 
  • Develop crisis intervention plans and provide immediate support during emergency situations
  • Coordinate with emergency services and other stakeholders to ensure client safety and well-being.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records, documenting client interactions, interventions, and outcomes. 
  • Provide information and education to clients to enhance their understanding of the available resources and services.
  • Empower clients to make informed decisions clients to make informed decisions and build skills for self-advocacy and self-sufficiency. 

This position may serve the following counties: Muscogee County, and possibly the other 7 counties in our service area.

Works with the following population: Male and females, between the ages of sixteen (16) and thirty (30) in the early stages of psychosis.

Hours & Days: Monday through Friday (8am to 5pm). 40 hours per week.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelors degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or a related field. 1 to 2 years of experience working with individuals who have a mental health diagnosis, demonstrating excellent communication, empathy, and problem-solving skills. Must possess strong interpersonal abilities to effectively engage with clients and collaborate with diverse stakeholders. Must be capable of assessing complex situations and developing practical solutions in collaboration with clients and other service providers. Must have a valid driver's license, a personal insured vehicle, and a clean driving record, as transporting is required.

Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience in case management or a related field.
