Licensed Intake Counselor (MSU)

Program Name: Medical Services Unit

Works with the following population: Male and female individuals with a mental health diagnosis, developmental disabilities, and addictive diseases.

Days & Time: This position will work 40 hours a week. Most programs work Monday through Friday, from 8am to 5pm, with a 1-hour break.

Pay: $53,000 per year

Job Responsibilities: 

Under general to limited supervision, the candidate will:

  • Perform social services functions at an advanced level to individuals and their families. 
  • Perform psychosocial assessments, treatment planning/monitoring and discharge planning. 
  • Provide counseling therapy to clients requiring complex intervention. 
  • Perform commitment determinations and/or execute orders of involuntary commitments.
  • Other duties as assigned.

    Minimum Requirements: You MUST have a Master's degree in social work or counseling, and you MUST be fully licensed (LPC, LCSW, LMFT) in the state of Georgia.

    Preferred Qualifications: Experience working with individuals with mental disabilities and/or addictive diseases. Experience working in the Community Mental Health Field. Supervisory/Leadership experience.
