Part-Time Vehicle Operator (CDL)


Program Name: Transportation

Works with the following population: New Horizons staff, clients, and event staff. 

Location(s) this position will serve: All New Horizons event areas in Columbus, GA and the surrounding areas. 

Days & Time: This position is similar to an on-call position. The candidate will work up to 29 hours a week, Monday through Sunday.

Pay Range: $30 per hour

Job Responsibilities:

The candidate must: 

  • Maintain regular maintenance and basic cleaning of the Mobile Unit. 
  • Inform his/her supervisor about any maintenance needs the vehicle needs/will need. 
  • Be able to lift up to 45 pounds. 
  • Work around or with individuals in services with New Horizons Behavioral Health. 

The candidate must also be able to: 

  • Work mornings and weekends.
  • Work out of the Columbus, GA area.
  • Work close to holidays and possibly on special occasions. 
  • Work with less than 2 days' notice. 

    Minimum Requirements:

    • MUST have a high school diploma/GED. 
    • MUST have a clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) and a valid driver's license. 
    • MUST have at least one (1) year of driving CDL-certified vehicles.
    • MUST be flexible with time and schedule. 
    • MUST be available on weekends and possibly holidays, as many events are during these times.
