Population served: Community partners, stakeholders, press, elected officials, and the general public. 

Days & Hours: Monday - Friday, 8am to 5pm. Some Saturdays and evenings may be required, based on outreach events, etc.

Salary: $49,000 - $55,000 per year

New Horizons Behavioral Health is looking for an organized, detail-oriented Marketing and Communications Manager to build and maintain New Horizons' brand and reputation. This person will tell the story of our mission to build better lives for individuals living with mental illness, addictive disease, and/or developmental disabilities. The ideal candidate will have exceptional graphic design, brand management, and project coordination skills. This is a full-time role, reporting to the Chief Financial Officer. This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Under limited to general supervision, the candidate will be expected to:

  • Create, manage, and execute the annual communications and marketing plan to coordinate. Manage the creation of visual storytelling pieces, including graphic design, still photography and videos Lead the writing, editing and production of external communications, including print and electronic newsletters, thank you letters, appeal letters and the annual report.
  • Lead the day-to-day content management of the New Horizons website and social media Engage and support staff and clients in media interactions Ensure consistency with branding and messaging guidelines with both internal and external audiences Explore new marketing opportunities to bring awareness of New Horizons to new audiences. Cultivate and develop media relationships; build and maintain list of strategic press contacts, to include state and local elected officials.
  • Participate in Outreach and Community Education Events throughout the 8-county service area. May include evening and weekend outreach events. Attend area Family Connection Collaborative Meetings representing New Horizons. Attend other community meetings as requested.
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute the major annual event "Recovery on the River" as well as other events that may arise during the year. Draft and disseminate press releases and pitch stories. Report on activities at regularly scheduled CSB Board Meetings. Other duties as assigned. 

      Minimum Qualifications:

      • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
      • Must have at least two (2) years of experience in communications, marketing, media relations, writing, and/or project coordination. 
      • Must have experience with design, image and video editing software. 
      • Must be proficient within Microsoft Office
      • Must be able to communicate effectively, with the ability to speak publicly.
