The selected candidate will be responsible for prescribing, directing, administering, and/or monitoring psychotherapeutic treatments or medications to treat mental, emotional, or behavioral disorders in adults and children. He/She will gather and maintain patient information and records, including social or medical history obtained from patients, relatives, or other professionals. The candidate will develop a treatment plan according to the needs of the patient's needs and extent of emotional, social, cognitive, developmental, or behavioral disorder, and will consult with the patient's Primary Care Physician (PCP) or other healthcare providers. The candidate will provide crisis intervention when needed. Also, must write and maintain patient and clinical records, including the type of treatment and medication administered. In addition, the candidate must remain current with professional job knowledge, and must follow ethical and legal policies, procedures, and standards.
Program Name: Medical Services Unit
Minimum Requirements: Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) with a degree from an accredited college/university. Completion of an approved psychiatric residency and licensed to practice medicine in the state of Georgia. Board eligible or certified and possess a current Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) registration. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Must demonstrate the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
Preferred Requirements: Experience working in a clinical setting is preferred.
Days & Time: This position will work a 40-hour weekly schedule, Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm.
Rate of Pay: $200,000 to $211,00 per year, based on experience. Salary increase based on experience.
